4th PREW

Mainstreaming Gender Equality
Northamptonshire,27-29 January 2005

The fourth and last PREW, which gathered 20 trans-Europeans participants in the County of Northamptonshire, has just taken place. This County is characterised by its ethnic diversity and pockets of poverty. We were showed, in practice, how associations targeting ethnic minorities or certain social groups, worked to promote women participation in civic life: what were these associations' strategy, their activities, and the obstacles they met. In addition, the Council outlined how promoting women in decision-making was built-in their local/regional "sustainability" strategies.
